Taha Whanau

or this task had to explain what Taha Whanau meant. As you can see I've written down "Taha Whanau means the relationships between you, your community, your church and your family.

Then we had to use  those squares to  write down what each member of your family does in the house!! I decided to create my own avatar of each family member, and then add an actual photo of them. Each of these roles were very important to show in our family.

Converting units

This week we are learning how to convert units.  You can use in this kind of maths millimetres, kilograms, centre metres, tones for this one you will need to convert cm to mm,tonnes to kg and litres to ml  so you will have to convert these.  It had different converting unit questions, but still sort of the same filling in the gaps task. I found these quite easy because I  was the one that did the task like this last week so I think that I am starting to understand  Slide 5 was when we had to fill in the gaps, but we had a few letters. We used the answer we had from slide 5 to answer slide 6. We had to find the answer we put in slide 5 to crack the code. The code was really hard because I had to keep going back and forth. Overall the task we hard, but I enjoyed it!!

Sentence Types

Talofa Lava, Today I had a google meet with Mrs Tele'a for literacy. For writing I am learning how to write a simple, compound and a complex writing. These are the things that you need to do in order for you to have a good sentence type.

1 The words make sense and express a complete thought.

2 It begins with a capital letter and ends with a full stop, exclamation mark or question mark.

3 It contains a predicate, and a subject. The predicate, or verb tells what the subject, or noun, is doing.

The other thing is how a simple sentence.

The most basic type of sentence is the simple sentence, which contains only one clause. A simple sentence can be as short as one word.

The Compound.

A compound sentence is when you join two sentences together using a conjunction.
The most common conjunctions are; and, although, because, but, if, or, thought, where, whether.
Conjunctions that indicate time are; before, until, since, when, whenever, while.

Last of not least complex sentences and things you need to do.

Complex sentences are made up of one main idea that is supported by
one or more related ideas. The main ideas does not need to come first.
Complex sentences need punctuation, usually commas.

WHERE DOES THE PUNCTUATION GO?

It was a beautiful summer’s day as Alan, with his prize held high, paced towards the pier.
It was a beautiful summer’s day (probably the hottest that year) as Alan paced towards the pier.
It was a beautiful summer’s day as Alan paced -with a bounce in his step- towards the pier.
