  2. Kia ora Yolanda,

My name is Rachel and I am working with Sophie and the team on the Summer Learning Journey programme this year. It is so great to see that you have returned to the learning journey this year and already posted two activities. Way to go!

I really enjoyed reading your facts about New Zealand (NZ). I had forgotten that bungy jumping was invented here in NZ. I must admit that I have never tried bungy jumping. Have you? I don't think that I am brave enough to give it a go. The idea of leaping off of a tall bridge and hurtling towards the water below is a bit too much for me! I think that I will stick with activities that allow me to keep both feet on the ground, like netball or volleyball.

Speaking of volleyball, I see that you are a volleyball player. That is really cool! I used to play volleyball when I was growing up in Canada. In fact, I played for my school team every year until I graduated from college. My younger sister, Leigh, still plays volleyball in an adult league. She plays both indoor volleyball and beach volleyball and she loves it! Have you ever tried beach volleyball?

I hope that this rain will stop soon and that you will get the chance to go outside and play with your family and friends. Perhaps you may even get the chance to play some volleyball!

Hope that you have a wonderful week and that you're able to come back and join us again soon on the Summer Learning Journey.

    All the best,
    Rachel
