Fun Friday
Last Week on Friday week we celebrated Tongan language and we had cross country and team five did drama and Tokelau dance. We celebrated Tongan language week by watching our Tongan girls and boys dancing and our team five choir singing. We were running for cross country that is how we celebrated but our year seven and eights got to run twice. The last thing we did was the everyday theatre. This was about a boy that always goes out with his friends, Maraea was Tee’s mum Maraea had the skarfe as the actor, Jake was Tee’s friend and Jake had the hat, Dave was Jake's dad he was the beanie as the actor. We had to try and get the code and I learned that every child has hopes and dreams.
My favourite part of First favourite thing about Friday was watching our year seven and eight Tongan group dance and I enjoyed listening to our year seven and eight sing a different culture song. The second thing that I really enjoyed was the cross country because I attempted my best and never gave up, I think that never giving up and trying my best was the main thing about cross country.

The Legend of Kava Tonga
Today we watched a video about Kava.
I feel sad because of what they did with her daughter and how they put the king first. It was so sad because the couple decided to sacrifice their daughter, named Kava. The couples names were Fefanga and Fefafa believe that it was necessary to fulfil their obligation and duty to there king. After watching the legend I felt so sad about what they did to there daughter.

Best Day Ever With my FAMILY!!!
Today I am going to be writing about my best day ever with my family. The best day that I have ever had with my delightful, cheerful, favourite, content, talented family is when it was my cousin's 21th birthday. On Saturday Morning, it was my cousin's 21th Birthday. In the morning she came over to my house and she thought that we were not going to do anything for her birthday.
First we went to the place where we did her birthday, there were people from her church already there. When we all arrived we all waited for her to come up the stairs, when she came she was shocked to see us there to celebrate her birthday. My cousin and I went and gave her our present and it was a cute teddy bear and a sign that said Jordana and it was all white she was so delighted.
After that we gave her a 21 birthday key. She was really happy but she was tearful.

Did you know that one of the values are to respect the elders your thinking why?? you should respect the elders because it is the traditional way of Tonga and because that is the values of Tonga. Respecting your elders is important to everyone because elders have great wisdom to impart and you can spend quality with them. Respecting your elders is important to Tongan people it is because this is the important values and because this is the traditional values and it is from the island of Tonga.

Reading
One of the things that I found so interesting to keep the traditions alive in the culture Tonga is there traditional songs. As they sing there traditional songs they put there hands out into a gooey, paste and then spread the paste over a sheet of material on the table.
The second thing that I found so interesting is that it’s a long way from the Kingdom of Tonga, which is about 2,000 kilometres north of New Zealand.
The third thing that I found interesting is that the group is learning about Tongan culture and how to make ngatu, a cloth made from bark. Ngatu is known as tapa in many Pacific countries like the islands.
The fourth thing that I found so intresting is that Ngatu is made from the bark (tutu) of the paper mulberry tree (hiapo). Making ngatu is called koka‘anga. Ngatu is very important in Tonga. It is used for blankets, mats, clothes – and even kites.
Last of not least the thing that i found interesting is that Over four months, the group has made twenty large pieces of ngatu. Each woman takes a piece home. At home, they plan the design and then paint the ngatu. They might use designs of turtles, fish, birds, and animals. They might include the Tongan flag. Each piece of ngatu tells a story.

The Amazing Planetarium
What is a planetarium?
Planetarium is something that shows astronomy in the night sky.
Why was the room shaped like a circle?
Because the constellation was in the shape of a cross.
Why was the teacher at the planetarium?
So that she can explain more about the planetarium
Why is it usually hard to see stars at night in a city?
It's because the light from the city sends a glow in the sky, and they make a kind of fog.
What are stars made of? Hot gas
Would the surface of Mars be wet or dry? Dry
What did the second planet look like?
Jupiter looked like a wild windy storm.
Did Sophie see real stars and planets? No
Why did Sophie want her cousin to go to the planetarium?
