Luar Eclipse

Today we were talking about the Lunar eclipse because the last time the Moon blood came was 1982 and that was when the beautiful Mrs Tele'a was only 7 years old. Thank you to Kiwi Kids for the information.

Fractions

This week we are learning about fractions and about the difference between the numerator and the denominator. I think this task was easy because I had to solve the problem and I had to answer the questions.

Writing

Last week on Wednesday the year 8s went off to camp. We went to Kauaeranga Valleys and the meaning of O le ala i le pule o le tautua  means the path to leadership is to serve. My highlight for camp was the go karts because I was at first scared but because I thought that the go karts were going to fall over but when it was my turn I went so speedy because I was going around twice but when I tried to stop I kept going on.My highlight was the concert because I really enjoyed the dance moves and the karaoke night when everyone started singing and dancing.I think that camp is important so that we can get out of our comfort zone and we can experience different things and we can beyond our fears.

Solar System Reading,

For reading we had to create a sentence to help you remember the order of the planets Organise planets into order from smallest to biggest. I think this task was pretty easy because I had to just make up my own sentence then I had to organise the planets biggest to smallest.

Rotuma Language Week

Noa’ia! That’s hello in the Rotuman language. My information report today will share with you some important facts about Rotuma.

Rotuma is located near the atmosphere. In the North we have Tuvalu, in the south we have Fiji, in the east we have Samoa and in the west we have Vanuatu

here are less than 2000 people that live in Rotuma because the rest live in Fiji. The Main two languages that Rotuman people speak are Rotuman and English, Sadly heaps of people don’t understand how to speak the culture and that's why the culture is dangerous because the people that are Rotuman can’t speak or understand the language.

I’ve learned that heaps of people from Rotuma can’t understand the language and they can’t speak it. It makes me imagine my own culture Samoan not keeping it alive because not that many people not knowing how to speak the culture.

Go Here for more information on our language weeks in Aotearoa.

Fraction

Today I was learning about fractions. For this task I had to move the fraction to the match the pictures then I had to find the fractions of a whole. I think it was easy because I was showing how to find a fraction of a whole and it had examples to show us what to do.

The Magificent Immersion Assembly

Today we got back from our 2 week and we had our marvellous, magnificent  immersion assembly. My favourite part from the immersion assembly was the different movies that they made.

My favourite movie was team 5 because I enjoyed how they went on a magic school bus and they on the travelling between the solar system planets and they were explaining different things about the planet and about how it feels if you were living on that planet and I really enjoyed it because they were making jokes about the planet.

I learned that the best planet to live on is earth because the other planets are cold, some planets you can’t because you will freeze it because it's cold or it's too hot so I think that earth is the only planet that is good for people to live on.

I think Pt England has an immersion assembly in the beginning of every term. So that the students can know the theme and so that they can know what they are learning every term and so that we can know what other teams are learning about.
